Will my computer keep overheating if I run my video game off an external harddrive?

I run on a Mac 2.4Ghz 2 core and it's not the best for playing computer games, (I play heroes of newerth). It always overheates after 30minutes of gameplay.

I have a friends external hardrive, and I was wondering, if I put my game on that and open it from there, will my main comp. continue to overheat? is that how it works? Will my computer keep overheating if I run my video game off an external harddrive?
No that's not how it works. Your cpu and your gpu do the brunt of the work and therefore get hot. You cannot avoid it. Make sure the insides are dust free and always play on a hard, flat surface.
Sorry to say but that wont work...Whats overheating your system is inadequate cooling of the video card or the processor....It could be a combination of both....

? Mac?..... for gaming? That is your problem right there..... And macs are known to get hot. So....
Maybe, but, your graphics card/mobo is doing all the heating . ~Will my computer keep overheating if I run my video game off an external harddrive?
