Looking for computer game recommendation for 10-year old boy?

My son has been playing a game named RIFT and FATE. He likes them both, but they were installed on our old computer and he lost them when we upgraded. I was always unsure if those games were appropriate for his age anyway. Do you know of a game I can download, or buy, that is similar to those, popular with kids, but isn't violent. I think he likes the battle parts of those games and the continuous nature of the them. He loves Zelda like games too but obviously, those aren't on the computer.

Minecraft is a really fun game that isn't very violent. The entire basis of the game is to build and thrive in a world made entirely out of blocks. There are some creatures that try to kill you and destroy your home, however it isn't bloody, and the graphics aren't... graphic. In fact, it looks like a game that was made like 10 years ago, but that was done on purpose. It isn't something you buy in stores, you have to go to this website: http://www.minecraft.net/ and buy it online for you to play on your computer; you don't need internet afterwards, except for the occasional update. I am sure he will like playing it, because it is the very essence of creativity. Every time you start a new world, it is never the same as the last one you started. No two worlds are ever the same. You use the resources around you to build tools and use the blocks (which is everything) to build your home. There's so much to do in the game that there's no one way to play it.
Star Wars the Old Republic is popular with any age it seems. It's a battle game, but it's not really violent. My boyfriend just played a demo. It's coming out soon. Looks like a decent game.
