IS it okay to copy computer game files on a flash drive, then when needed, paste the files back on the game?

I like downloading maps, mods, extra game items, and whenever i have a problem with my computer and losr everything, i hate having to go through with downloading them all over again. So would copying and then later on pasteing the files to the game, hurt the game or my computer.IS it okay to copy computer game files on a flash drive, then when needed, paste the files back on the game?
The only thing I would recommend is that, if you intend to paste the folder(s) back later on, and use the features in the folders; you backup as many folders as are required to fully use the backed up folders.

By this, I mean, if there are 10 folders to back up, it will probably not be useful to only back up, say 2 or 3 folders, as the other folder contents could be more up-to-date when you come to restore the 2 or 3 folders at a later date and, therefore, the information could end up corrupting the game.

So, try to backup all of the game folders and, if your computer loses the program later, you can reinstall the game (as this will register all of the components necessary to run the game) and then copy the folder structure back from your flash drive and bring the whole game back to the present time.IS it okay to copy computer game files on a flash drive, then when needed, paste the files back on the game?
There shouldn't be a problem with this. In fact, considering you own the game, this is no more than back-up for personal use. I back-up my WoW addons and settings folder once a week.
