If not, it's almost always the video card. (It's not lag - that's an internet thing - it's just "slowness".) Are you sure the game you're downloading is for the Mac? You have to be using the Mac version and not a Windows version. That would make a huge difference. No clue why iPhoto would get triggered though without knowing more of the exact details of what you're downloading (file types, what web sites, etc.).



If its a Windows only game then you can't access it from OS X. You would need to install and run Windows on your Mac. Either through virtualization such as VMWare or Parallels or install Windows natively using Boot Camp. This would require a bunch of hard drive space though, either method. the reason it charges slower is because you are using some of the power that is being charged into while it is being charged. i use my laptop all the time when it is charging and nothing bad has happened yet.
Actually, the thing to to when you play games is to take out the battery, and leave the laptop plugged in. I have a PC laptop, but they all work the same way.



It would also be a good idea to check from time to time to see if your laptop is overheating. Simply feel the bottom. If it's getting unusually warm, quit and let it cool down. This is important, as when a laptop overheats, vital internal components get damaged, such as the motherboard and hard drive. You will actually have to quit! Pausing leaves the game in memory, and the game continues to render frames.



To answer your question, playing games at all with your battery will make your battery life shorter, especially demanding ones like Sims 3. Just follow my advice, and you'll be fine.

Depending on how big it is, there may be many options available. If the game is around 2-6 gigabytes, you wouldn't want to copy it on to many CDs or a couple DVDs. An easier solution is to purchase a USB thumb drive. I recently bought an 8gb one from Office Depot for $12. With that you can upload the game directory to the thumb drive, plug it into the other computer, and transfer it. It's often faster and less complicated than burning discs.



If the game is larger than 8gb, you can either buy a larger thumb drive (I've seen them go up to 32gb) or split the folder up into sections and move them separately.



If the computers are on a network, you can simply share the folder and access it that way. Since you mentioned you don't have internet access I would probably be safe in assuming you don't have a network either. Crimson Skies by Microsoft should work pretty well although I have no idea what you have in your computer. My friend use to play it on his computer and his is OLD. It should work with the graphics turned down on small maps with a lower number of population. Some other ideas are Grand Theft Auto III, Age of Empire II, Hitman, Neighbors From Hell and Viper Racing.



I do agree with the first answerer ----- Red Alert 2 is a pretty good game and it's guarenteed to work. I think there's an expansion for it too called Yuri's Revenge.

If you want a nice, Free game, download Urban terror (V.4.1), cuz it will most probably work with low RAM and Vid-mem.
You could try some classics like Redneck Rampage, Carmageddon, Duke Nukem 3d, Rise of the Triads. All these should be downloadable from torrents. If you are running XP you will need dosbox. Its a small program that runs all the classic games.

I believe that you need to make an image of the cd/dvd (iso) then burn that image onto a blank
When you buy a game you are actually buying a license to use it. If the media it was supplied on (usually a CD/DVD) becomes damaged/unuseable, the publisher will usually replace it for a small fee - so don't worry :)



Remember - the license agreement also states that you are NOT to make duplicates of the disk it was supplied on, and there's usually copy protection on the disk as well.

Jade Empire. Made by the same people who made KOTOR. Similar feel and gameplay, Excellent storyline, puzzles, and quests. The X-Box edition is a few years old, but I'm pretty sure they just relased a special edition for PC.

You should REALLY try to play kingdom hearts and kingdom hearts 2.trey are a bit childish but they have a really nice story.they have also enough difficult battles and secret movies to discover.I give you the reviews.

Download Daemon (I have version 3.47 but I suppose just get the latest version). Install it and on your bottom right task bar there should be a lightning symbol. Right click that and mount drives. If this is already done for you, then right click on the lightning symbol again, scroll over virtual cd/dvd rom and pick a drive. Then it will ask you to open a file to mount, open your game file, it puts it on that drive. Try that and hope it helps it works for me.Computer game?

No. 100% sure that game should not cause the computer to crash. What I would do though is re-install windows / format your computer. Sometimes windows just becomes unstable if it hasnt been maintained properly in a while.
Games will never "kill a computer" or "cause them to crash".



Now on the flipside, some games have bugs and may "crash" but games you buy at the store have been heavily tested and never mess up a computer such as say spyware/adware or downloading random viruses/bugs from websites/myspace and stuff like that.

It seeems that your game files have got corrupted by some improper shutdown of the computer while the game was running.

To resolve it check the cd for any scratches or simply first uninstall the game and then install again.(do not choose repair in the game setup even if there is an option to do so).

That should be fine.But even if that does't seems to work check if you installed some new versions of some audio or video drivers(if the game develped the fault after that ), try reverting back to the old drivers.

Never going to happen. Developer studios don't buy ideas. Ideas are worthless, unless they come from established fandoms (movie or book spinoffs, or established game series) and since you don't have the rights to such a thing, your idea is not going to be worth selling. Trust me, they have years and years worth of ideas in-house that they're sure to consider better than your idea simply because they're THEIR ideas. And besides by them working on their ideas, they can keep the profits.

You might want to consider hiring a development team. Programmers, musicians, graphic designers, etc. If your idea is good enough, you can get funding from a venture capitalist... but I doubt it'd happen. Like I've said before, ideas are worthless. Implementation is what's worth money.

You need to find a crack for the game. Cracks allow a person to play a game without the original disc. When you download the crack or patch you need to backup the icon for playing the game by copying and pasting it into another folder. Next copy the icon from the crack folder into your game folder and click "Yes" for replacing the icon. Usually they come with instructions but what I've typed above is usually how it goes.



Additionally make sure you check anything you download for viruses and be careful in the websites as searching for cracks is like going to the worse part of town.



I use cracks to play games so I don't have to lug around the cd case with all my games in it when I'm travelling with my laptop.

During over 40 years of cat companions, I've had a few wire chewers and many who just didn't care. First, find out which kind you have. Some cats simply have no interest in chewing wires. Others are hard to stop.



If you have a wire chewer, the only sure way to protect your wires (other than to exclude the cat from the room) is to enclose them in something non-chewable. A popular option is to use drip irrigation pipe slit lengthwise. Ugly, but it works. Double-sided sticky tape (this is usually the kind with styrofoam in the middle) discourages most cats. Everything else I've heard about is even uglier.

But for more stationary electronics, then there are protective wire guides that you can get. They are plastic spirals that you feed the wires through. run the cords in a tube like the paper towel tubes or toilet paper tubes, throw a rug over them, block off the cords behind the tv or computer with styrofoam blocks from boxes I go to electronic stores and ask for boxes or styrofoam they will throw away...cut the styrofoam with a large bread knife...wedge it behind the tv or desk to block it off...there's cord protectors at office supply stores like office max, maybe home improvement stores like home depot or Lowe's...

I'm at school trying to download a computer game off of the internet but we have to sign in with a custom user name. These have restrictions on them. Everytime I try downloading it the computer says ask an administrator, which of course I cant or I get in trouble lol. I tried proxies but they only work for internet browsing.
