How can I make my own computer game?

Do I need Flash for all games?



Where can I start that will provide an easy step-by-step guide on how to make a computer game? I'm not all too familiar with it.



I'm basing a game off of something that looks like it came off a Gameboy, something like Golden Sun. Those types of games. ^^

The easiest way to make RPG games, like Golden Sun for example, would be to use RPG Maker VX. It comes with pre made graphics, an easy to use and learn interface, and requires no knowledge of programming. (Except scripting, which is optional, and there are hundreds of pre made scripts on the web) The community for RPG Maker VX is very large, and generally very helpful, and tutorials can be found all over the web.
