Will a computer game still run if you do not meet the system requirements?

I have 1.4 GHz on my computer and I recently purchased Dawn Of War: Platinum Edition. When I put the game in my disk drive it will not start it/load it. Other games work in the disk drive and the single version of dawn of war works, just not this one. The system requirements for this one are 2.0 GHz.Will a computer game still run if you do not meet the system requirements?
It is games like this which drive the "home upgrade" market so successfully. Check what package CPU you have, and look for a faster version. You will likely have to upgrade your RAM too, and next thing you will be looking for a killer graphics card, and that will likely need a more powerful PSU. Be warned - there is no way to say where this will lead - but you will surely learn about the innards of your PC!Will a computer game still run if you do not meet the system requirements?
I depends on the game. Some games will run (slowly) if you don't meet the requirements. Some games crash, and some games specifically have an error message that tells you you don't meet the requirements. Will a computer game still run if you do not meet the system requirements?
You have your answer already.

Why do you think they list the minimum requirements?

For the hell of it?
