How can I write a computer program to make a game?

It takes A LOT of work to create a game, even a simple game like Pong. Start small and work your way up. Good luck!
First, don't even think about writing a game in fortran.



Second. C is a fine language for writing a game. (and probably the most common, or second to Assembly langauge).



What platform do you want to write the game for?



Get a good compiler, and IDE for that platform.. and start simple.

I'm at school now, and the program that's used here for Video Game Development is called "Dark Basic." It won't help you generate anything like Grand Theft Auto, but it's still pretty darn cool.
