How do I play the old 80's computer game Elite on a modern PC?
I've downloaded a zip file of the original game, and an emulator to make it run, but I can't seem to get it working. Any ideas? PS, as you may have gathered, I'm not the most computer savvy bloke, so step by step instructions would be particularly welcome! How do I play the old 80's computer game Elite on a modern PC?
Ok first you need to know what verson you have downloaded because there's a a PC, EGA, VGA and MGGA version so you might just have the wrong emulator. It was also releste for various computer platforms like pc and mac (not mac but i'm just trying to make it simple)... so check that out 2.
It could also just be easier for you to simply download the sequel Frontier : Elite II which is easier to find... have better grafix.

How long would it take to make a 2D computer game with hardly any experience?
To make a 2D computer game...with only one week of experience of coding, how long would it take to make it with 8 team members? How long would it take to make a 2D computer game with hardly any experience?
Boy, thats hard to say, it would depend, on how complex the game is, also how well dose the team work together,...or if evryone is argueing and playing around, you might never get it done,...if you are well organised, and have learned alot in the 1 week of studying, (that really is not very much time),..
you could whip something up in a couple of hours,.....and it would also depend on the programming language,....I still would think in a day, or if you are working together say 1 hour each day, in a week (8 days),...This is a odd question, I am curious why you asked this, I recently wanted to make a simple game, but did not know enough, a few freinds, helped, they have experience, (lots), and whipped a
simple version in a couple of hours,......My doupts are thet you can do it with no more the a weeks time studying,...allthough there are some real simple games, that one can do in a few minuets, after studying maybe a day or 2....so I still say I am sure in 8 hours you all should be able to come up with something......probably less....

How do you burn a computer game?
How do you burn a computer game, and do you use a cd or dvd disc? How do you burn a computer game?
gas and a match. Cd's and DVD's will both light as good. How do you burn a computer game?
that depends on which format the game is. if its dvd then you need a dvd-r if its cd then cd-r. you will want ot make an exact copy. if your using nero or w/e just click on either dvd or cd on the top rite then find and click -copy disk-. look on the case to figure out which format it is and use the apporiate disk for it.How do you burn a computer game?
when u burn, u have an unsed disk and an image (a file with the information on how the cd or dvd would be after recording). So if your image is below 700MB or so, its meant to use with a cd. If your image size is much larger than that (say, 4GB) then use a dvd.
ull need a recording software. Alcohol100%, nero, isoburner, etc. google cd burn or dvd burn and youll get a lot of options.

Is there a way to save your progress on a computer game if you have to restore your laptop?
I need to restore my laptop due to a virus but I know that doing this will erase all my work on my computer game that's installed on it and put me back to square one. Is there a way to save the game? Thanks! Is there a way to save your progress on a computer game if you have to restore your laptop?
Yes it can be done but it's not for the average user since you have to know where to look. The game will save all your datas in a file in the game folder. You need to find this file and copy it to a storage device. After the restoration process you can copy this file over to the game folder. The trick is finding which file.Is there a way to save your progress on a computer game if you have to restore your laptop?
Look in the folder the game is installed in for another folder called saves or saved games. Copy the folder to a CD or floppy disk if it's not too large.
When you reinstall the game simply copy the saves folder into the one created by the new install. Is there a way to save your progress on a computer game if you have to restore your laptop?
For most games, when you save your game, you are actually saving a physical file on the HDD. What you need to do is open "My computer", go to program files, find where you installed it and locate where it saves these files. Best way to do it is save the game with a unique name like "My saved game" or anything you want, then use Windows "Search" feature and find it. Once you locate it, copy and paste it in a safe place like another Hard drive, a CD, or a flash drive.
From here, you can reformat, then reinstall the game, and then copy and paste it back to where you got it from originally after you reinstall the game. Your saved game should then be there and you can pick up where you left off!
Good luck!
