I bought a computer game online and it came with a key made up of letters and numbers to activiate the game. Is there any way I can transfer this game to another one of my computers? Thanks.
Remember: This isn't a store-bought CD-rom game. How to transfer a computer game to another computer?
the only way i would know is tranfer the came to a CD-RW or a flash drive and then plug that into the other computer. should be found uner the c :drive
Transfer the games installation file (probly a big EXE file) the company sent you to a CD or flashdrive then carry it over. Also make a text file and copy the key they gave you from your email to the text and save that with the big exe installation file.
NOTE: Copying the program files folder (what the guy posted above me) will not work! You need the installation file because it installs more then the program folder to make the game work(registry entries, system dll files)How to transfer a computer game to another computer?
Depends, did the game have a downloadable installer or are you ussing something like steam?
In any case the game must be reinstalled on the new computer (because of registry settings) therefore you will need the game installer or the installer client, such as steam or impulse.
Also bear in mind that some games these days come with DRM (copyright protection) that limits the amount of times you can install it, usually to 3 installs if it does have this bad type of DRM.
If you still have the install then just move the install to your other computer with a flash drive or something. If you don't have the installer and you have already installed it on your computer there is not really a way to move it. If you don't have a flash drive then you can do it with a CD or you can do it with your network. If you both computer are connected to the same network go to the one that you want it to go to press the windows key and R key at the same time and run will come up the time CMD and a black window will pop-up and type ipconfig and then get the # for your ip address then open up run on the other computer and type that # you got into run and press enter. When its done go to the computer you want it to be on and find the Shared file and it should be in there. How to transfer a computer game to another computer?
yes, you need a flash/usb drive or a CD with sufficient storage space.
go to "my computer", then go to Program Files, locate the folder which has the name of the game (or it's supposed to) and copy that into the storage media you're using. then copy the folder into the same place you copied it from {the first computer} in the computer that you want the game in.
then punch in the same number and you're done, unless the game has somekind of connection with the manufacture, this will mean you have to buy it all over again
hope i helped
Uh. Did you get it off steam?
What system did you get it off.
If you buy a game online. it usually provides you with a download link.
Use the same download link on the new computer and use the same key.
If you lost it. Send an email to them telling them to send you a new link.
I have no idea what game system your using to buy so i cannot help more than this.
Yep you need to be a little more clear about the game and where you got it from.
